Find Your Own Scent! - Violet Ends by Boy Smells

My dad used to work two jobs and would come home really late. He’d unwind in the kitchen, unfold his portable chair, and sit right in front of the stove to chain smoke a bunch of Marlboro Reds with the stove fan on to keep the smell from permeating the rest of the house. My mom hated the smell and avoided him. So, my dad would spray over the cigarette smell with his cologne, Acqua di Gio and Armani Code, and throughly brushed his teeth to finally get his kiss.

My brothers used to spray his cologne on before our biggest events: homecoming, prom, and whatever dates they had going on. Then one brother caught me trying it on and told me “Find your own scent!”

In 2021, I ordered Boy Smells Exploratory Set, checking their new range of “Genderful” Fragrance after their success with candles. I sprayed each one on a napkin and Violet Ends was the obvious winner.

I’d consider Violet Ends to be the most masculine of the set. It’s kind of like the “Black Ice” of the range.

It’s bold and spicy with a ton of smokiness. It smelled familiar. Like a mixture of the light citrus of Acqua di Gio, the woodsy weight of Armani Code, masked with the burn from cigarette smoke. Then in the middle of wear, there’s this refreshing quality, the part I could identify myself in. It’s hesitantly warm and cuts in with sweetness the longer it’s on.

I found my scent.

So I wear this and I think of my dad and whenever I think of my dad, I wear this.

This post is not sponsored and was for the pure fun and fantasy of being a perfume model.
